It serves the needs of its customers, while providing good value to the suppliers that feed it. And it’s integrated seamlessly to the nature around it, so all are allowed to flourish and grow. No one stakeholder takes too much or too little, so it can grow in balance with its ecosystem.

About Vicki Nielsen
When I was growing up, my family owned a mechanical contracting business. My father handled the operations, my mother did the bookkeeping and administration and my brother and I worked for them. They had no training in business, so my father had to work constantly just to keep up, and he was completely alone in his responsibility for his own family, and all of his employees. It can be lonely and stressful as a business owner, particularly a small business that doesn’t have a full-time executive team to bounce ideas off of. Eventually, my family sold the business for less than it was worth to escape the stress.
Now I get to use my training and experience to help my clients design businesses that will last. My team and I take care of the details that aren’t core to your expertise, letting you focus on what you’re best at. I’m a sounding board for you when you’re making big decisions, and I can model and forecast the risks and opportunities with each decision before you make it. We monitor the few key issues that can have a big impact, and let go of the hundreds of details that matter, but won’t change your path to success. Meaningful work is a critical part of my happiness, and I want to help business owners do their best work every day so they can have the same happiness and create it for their employees.
Credentials
As a 20-year Chartered Accountant, and a business executive for the last 10 years, I’ve worked in all areas of finance in a variety of industries. Using my strong background in mergers and acquisitions, I’ve focused my career on understanding what drives the value of a business and how to optimize it. I look at business differently, so from discussions with operational personnel and expert financial analysis, I find opportunities to improve profits and streamline processes. I work with executive teams to integrate the short and long-term goals of the business into a strategic plan, then work with finance professionals to create a system of reporting to ensure all is achieved as expected.

We are a small business that is growing! We do not have an internal accounting and finance team currently. While I have had several years of experience in leadership, reviewing financials and their performance and an MBA education, I thought I could manage my business with the basic monthly financials I was receiving from my bookkeeper. Being a small business, I didn’t believe I needed a CFO or to hire someone internally as I did not feel my company was large enough for this. I met Vicki and realized quickly I was wrong! Since working with Vicki, she has not only helped me clean up my records from the past, but she has put in a very comprehensive forecast and budget to which we discuss regularly to guide my business decisions. It has allowed me to feel confident in the decisions I am making, hold myself accountable to my business goals through her, plan for the future and overall feel more confident as I am proactive versus being reactive. Vicki has shown so much value to my business that I often wonder how I managed for so long without her! I would highly recommend Vicki and her team!
